you know when you're a kid and your mom just knows all the stuff she has to do for you? like that you need to eat at certain times and take baths in certain intervals... go to the doctor every now and then... cut your hair. what kind of medicine to take for whatever ailment you're having. what time you need to be at the bus. how to put up wallpaper. which roads to take to get to grandma's house the fastest. what gifts to get dad for his birthday. when dad's birthday is. what to feed the dog. how to clean the shower. what foods to eat and what candies are the best... but don't eat them too much cause you'll get sick. how to make your art project far out-rock all the other art projects. how to make you into a christmas tree for halloween. how many minutes to put all the different kinds of popcorn in the microwave for before they get burnt. how to clean your scrapes and bruises up so they don't hurt much. and don't scratch at your chicken pox.
how does she know all that stuff?
i used to wonder that when i was little. i also used to wonder how the blinker on your car just knew when to turn off after you've turned. was there a little guy in there that watched for when you turned and would then click it off? how did that happen? mom must know but i never asked her. cause i knew she'd make fun of me for asking and that i'd eventually figure out that it's hooked up to the steering wheel.
every night, when i pick abby up from daycare, she runs from whatever she's playing with "MAMAMAAA MA MAMAMAA" huggggg
i imagine she has the same blind faith that i know what i'm doing for all those things written up there. and to my surprise, when i think about it... somehow i just kind of know what she needs.

just wait til i get two grabby arms!
